VOLUNTEER at a Haven Retreat

Join us in running a women’s retreat overseas! Many global workers have followed God’s leading and invested their lives to serve God cross-culturally, in his “harvest field”, around the world. Let’s take a few days to invest in their investment!

 

We welcome all women with a heart to serve! 

What can you expect?

  • Be a part of providing a safe environment for the global workers to process, be counseled, be heard, be prayed for, and be loved.

  • Help build community at the Azmera Haven Retreat through creating an authentic environment where women can connect (networking & encouragement).

  • Encourage & honor women serving overseas cross-culturally or on cross-cultural teams from various nations.

  • Help workers find rest and a place to commune with Jesus.

  • Be a part of cherishing global workers through counseling, prayer, spiritual formation, seminars, various spa opportunities as well as unique opportunities that you may have to offer.

  • Enjoy ministering alongside women with a similar heart for ministry overseas. You'll be amazed by the camaraderie!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The main role of our volunteers is to be that hands and feet of God’s delight in and love over global workers serving around the world.  We do this mainly through listening to, praying over, and simply adoring our new friends. Our motto is: LISTEN. PRAY. ADORE.

    We do ALSO have specific needs for speakers, worship leaders, counselors, photographers, videographers, massage therapists, etc. A willing heart to serve is the greatest requirement.

  • Each trip is different but costs around $3500.

    The specific estimated cost per haven retreat will be found on the volunteer application form.

  • We will give you tools to help you raise funding through your contacts – friends, family, church, etc.  We will also put your name and photo on our website so that people can easily give to you there. Writing checks to “Azmera” and mailing them to PO Box 1082, Erie, CO 80516 is also an option.

    Azmera is a 501(c)3 and donations are tax deductible.

  • In general, we do not set a specific date by which volunteers need to commit to joining us. The most common variables that affect an additional volunteer are the volunteer team filling, the price of air tickets rising, or hotels and/or tours needing commitments. We’ve had people joining us up to 1 week before the haven retreat where there was room on the team, space in the hotel, and reasonable airfare. Of course, the sooner you know, the better it is for all involved.

    For any trip that has a specific deadline, we communicate that deadline on our website or specifically to those whom we know are still deciding.
